“Why does the EFF fill up stadiums but fail to get the votes?”
Here are the facts. The EFF has surpassed the 1 million voter mark so far and remains the fourth-largest political party in South Africa. Still bigger than ACTION-SA, UDM, IFP and PA.
Some stadiums have a capacity of 90,000, which means that more than 10 times the number of people who attended EFF rallies actually voted for the party.
So, the EFF has won more wards than it did in 2021 and is leading in one of the municipalities in the North West.
This shows that the party has grown significantly in many parts of South Africa but has declined slightly in Gauteng’s metros. This makes the party stagnant. It is neither GROWING nor DECLINING.
This is the dilemma facing Julius Malema and the EFF.
