WOMAN WATERING HER PLANTS IN THE FIELD
Prolonged dry spell in some parts of the country has left the farmer with no option but to water her crops using a bucket and cup.
Farmer Elina Mwanza in Chief Mumbi’s area in Petauke District was found watering her crops (beans).
Breeze FM reports that according to authorities, there’s little hope for crops in the affected fields to recover especially that the maize that was at tussling stage and about to start pollination has been burnt-pout.
And three provinces, Eastern, Southern and Central Provinces including some districts in Lusaka, Western and Copperbelt have recorded prolonged dry spells in the country.
