Government says it will not take sides in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Vice President, Mutale Nalumango says this is because Zambia being a member of the international community cannot make a unilateral decision regarding the conflict.

The Vice President said this in parliament when responding to a question from Matero Member of Parliament, Miles Sampa who wanted to know which country between the two, is Zambia supporting.

Mr. Sampa indicated that there was need for the government to state so, so that he could mobilize brave Zambian youths to go and fight.

But in her response Mrs. Nalumango says, Zambia will not make a position as an individual country but as a grouping to various bodies that the country belongs to.

She says no youth will be sent to fight in the Russia Ukraine war stressing that Government is concerned with what is happening because of the Zambians based in Ukraine.

Mrs. Nalumango further indicated that, it was for this reason that President Hakainde Hichilema gave a directed that Zambians in that country be evacuated.
