ZAMBIANS SHOULD SUPPORT PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S DEVELOPMENT AGENDA
5/10/23
It’s gratifying to note that the democratic space in Zambia has greatly expanded since UPND assumed office two years ago.
Zambians enjoy more freedom of expression and the media given government critics, including the opposition’s ability to freely express their diverse views on media outlets without being harassed by either the cadres or Police.
Admittedly, the soaring cost of living is biting and worrisome, however, government is working round the clock in an effort to reduce high cost of living, especially the price of mealie meal in the shortest possible time.
Further, the government has demonstrated a tacit commitment to improve citizens’ welfare through various empowerment initiatives targeting the youth and women as well as social cash transfer meant to mitigate the vulnerable communities’ poverty levels .
By this time every Zambian is alive to the successes the New Dawn Administration has scored in the last two years in power.
Take the much-talked about increased CDF, which has not only turned the local communities into a hive of activities, transforming many people’s lives, creating life saving skills training, local – based jobs, and business opportunities, but also turned local communities in oconstruction sites because of the on- going massive infrastructure developmental projects being rolled out across the country.
It’s for these reasons, we are urging Zambians to give deaf ears to government critics’ rantings, and rally behind President Hichilema as he navigates the country out of the economic doldrums.
