ZAMBIA’S DEBT IS FICTITIOUS
President Hichilema asks ACC to look into country’s accounts
President Hakainde Hichilema has observed that some of the debt the country contracted in the last seven years was fictitious and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) should look into the matter.
The President said most of the contracts in the previous administration were just made up and shared among a few people.
Mr Hichilema said it is unacceptable that in some instances, Government was made to pay a down payment of up to about 25 percent and interest accruing on the same contract
