ZESCO Board Member resigns

Jolly Kamwanga, one of the ZESCO Board members, has resigned accusing his fellow board members of lacking professionalism and abandoning the due process.

Kamwanga has also attacked ZESCO Board Chairperson, Vixen Ncube, accusing him of being casual and failing to pursue the Corporation’s strategic plan.

However insiders state that Dr. Jolly Kamwanga was “a cadre” of former Managing Director, Victor Mapani, and his failure to torpedo the dismissal of Mapani has ended up in tears.

Dr. Jolly Kamwanga wrote in his letter dated 7th November 2024 and submitted to the Industrial Development Corporation CEO;

“I had wished and hoped that the ZESCO Board’s governance practices would reflect the ethos of collegiality, transparency, clarity of purpose, and respect for the due process.”

“Unfortunately, these traits are lacking and instead, the ZESCO Board Chair exhlbits a morbid fear of imaginary competitors,
alarming casual approach, opaqueness and limited consultation in decision-making.”

“Unbelievable randomness and spontaneity of action, as well as a perplexing inability to track and guide the Corporation’s Strategic direction.”
