ZP ARRESTS ZIMBABWEN WANTED IN USA
POLICE in Lusaka have apprehended a Zimbabwean national who has been on INTERPOL Red Notice for crimes committed in the United States of America.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale says Nyika Simba aged 42 has been on INTERPOL wanted list for various offences involving tax fraud in Texas, United States of America.
Mwale tells Byta FM News that Police apprehended the suspect on February 18, 2023 around 12:00 hours at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport as he was about to leave the country.
He says preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect came to Zambia on February 16, 2023.
He is detained in Police custody waiting for extradition processes.
AND, Police are holding three foreign nationals for the offence of Obtaining money by false pretences.
They are alleged to have swindled a named Zambian of money amounting to K35,000.00 on pretext that they were selling a Toyota Mark X which after investigations was discovered to be a hired motor vehicle.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale says the suspects were arrested on February 18, 2023 around 23:00 hours in Emmasdale Area.
He says a Toyota Vitz which they were driving has been impounded for further Investigations.
The three, all males aged between 34 and 53, are from the Central African Republic and one from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
