BROTHERS DEATH BED ACCUSATION SPARKS MOB VIOLENCE IN ISASA, NAKONDE

An incident of mob justice has occurred in Isasa Village, in the western direction of Nakonde, where unknown people have burned down the house of a 61-year-old, John Siame, accused of bewitching his immediate elder brother, Friday Siame, aged 65.

According to reports, the now deceased, Friday Siame, named his younger brother, John Siame, as the one responsible for his illness before his death on Saturday.

This accusation sparked outrage among family members and community residents, who threatened to kill the younger brother.

Mr. Siame was rescued by police on Saturday evening; however, on Monday morning, his house was found completely burned down.

His family was not present, but the extent of property damage is unknown.

Isasa Village Headman, Metson Simukonde, has confirmed the incident to Chete FM News, condemning the act as barbaric, warning that unchecked vigilantism could lead to further loss of life due to baseless suspicions.

This is the third case of mob justice of witchcraft accusations on record this month in the district.
