A CAMPAIGN TO DESTROY ZAMBIA

The Zambian Dispatch has spent several weeks to understand why a former President of Botswana, Lt. Gen. Ian Khama is embroiled in the internal affairs of a friendly neighboring country.

Since the August 13th elections in Zambia and the subsequent security operations that saw the opposition leaders Mundubile and Makebi arrested on treasonous charges, Ian Khama has absurdly spent weeks reposting or sharing anti Zambia propaganda from dissidents in the diaspora. This behavior was odd for a former head of state.

So, our investigative journalists went to work. It appears that the arrest of former Anglican Bishop, Trevor Mwamba irked Ian Khama because the wife of the former Anglican Bishop of Botswana, Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba is the first born daughter of the former President and longest serving leader of the Republic of Botswana Quett Masire. Now, you may ask, what is the connection between Mmasekgoa and Ian Khama? Well, it’s loyalty to family friends.

Quett Masire, former President of Botswana was the trusted Vice President of Sir Seretse Khama, the first President of Botswana and father to Ian Khama. So, naturally, Ian Khama feels the need to stand with Mmasekgoa Masire — they are both first born children of the first and second Presidents of Botswana.

Ian Khama does not necessarily care about Zambia’s democracy or the plight of Mundubile and Makebi. He cares about the plight of Mmasekgoa Masire who he views as a sister family friend.

The intensity of the campaigns against Zambia are driven purely by personal and family interests through organizations such as Transparency International. A concerted campaign letter was written to various European nations and Asia concocting stories of a crackdown on human rights in Zambia post elections.

The campaign against Zambia to destroy its sovereignty by elements of the former President Lungu’s family, former Botswana President Ian Khama’s family, former President of Botswana Quett Masire’s family has become clear and explicit. Their work has been complimented by their international relations and connections culminating in EU issuing a scanting resolution against Zambia.
