ABOUT ZESCO 150% PRICE INCREASE GETTING HALTED BY ERB

The Energy Regulation Board-ERB should be commended for being bold for once on behalf of the people by rejecting ZESCO’s outrageous 150% power tariffs increment.
One wonders what World the people at ZESCO live in not to be aware of the hardships citizens are experiencing and made worse by the constant power load shedding at homes and business places.
ZESCO should leave citizens alone and looks to raise the money they want from the Mines especially in Northern Western Province namely FQM and Kalumbila that are reaping huge profits due to tax concession given to them in the last 3 national Budgets by the Finance Minister.
What ZESCO wanted to do to the ordinary citizens by increasing tariffs by 150% is the same as counting to milk a cow 3 times a day for one month but do not feed any pasture or grass for 29 days of the 30 days. At some point what will come out of the Cow won’t be milk but blood and eventually it will die.
ZESCO should not punish or kill but care for majority ordinary Zambians.

Miles Sampa can not be bother to read? All the publication that were made to explain the emergency tariff and he could not be bothered to read them.
The increase would have been selective. Do you use more than 200 units? Then you can afford the power hike. Stop being malious and take the time to read what a subject matter entails. What kind of law maker are you if you can not comprehend a simple subject matter.
