ZNBC and KK

While we are quick to lampoon and criticise, we are slow to appreciate.
In this 21 days of national mourning, like a marathon, ZNBC have picked up pace and are now leading with archival material, analysis and public commentaries.
On Friday, clearly having prepared for days, the 10th Anniversary of the Memorial of Second President Frederick Chiluba, ZNBC ran with FJT documentaries and analysis in perfect harmony.
After 17hrs, ZNBC reverted and dedicated the programming back to the memory of the founding President, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda.
Many factors caused the delay for ZNBC to make the announcement. We all knew by 15hrs that Dr. Kaunda had died.
But government and State House official statements had to be issued first before ZNBC could open the floodgates on the news.
Because of various factors ZNBC were beaten to breaking the news.
Interesting there is so much criticism, surpisingly even from those known to have mistreated ZNBC when they held power.
The current state of ZNBC is investment, successes and failures of many decades.
But now ZNBC is doing a good job and let’s thank them with the same vigour as we did with the vitriol and criticism.
