AZERBAIJAN FAILS TO EASE TURKEY–ISRAEL TENSIONS AS SYRIA TALKS ALSO COLLAPSE
Azerbaijan has reportedly failed in weeks of mediation efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Turkey and Israel, with no breakthrough reached between the two sides.
The talks were reportedly intended to prevent the escalating dispute from turning into a direct military confrontation inside Syria.
Meanwhile, separate efforts to reach a security agreement between Israel and Syria have also reportedly collapsed. According to Israel’s Haaretz, the negotiations broke down after Israel insisted that it would not withdraw from territories it currently controls in Syria, particularly areas within the demilitarized zone.
⚠️ The failure of both diplomatic tracks raises fresh concerns that tensions between the regional powers could further escalate on Syrian territory.
