Obama was campaigning for Amy Acton and Sherrod Brown on Saturday, and he turned his attention to the Pentagon, according to The Hill. He said the defense secretary is very focused on important matters like the jawlines and testosterone levels of our troops.
It’s a pointed shot, because it’s exactly what Hegseth has made his priority. He has called the military low-T and mandated testosterone screenings for male service members under 30, according to The Hill. His warriors, not weirdos rhetoric has been a favorite talking point of his since he took the job.
Obama made the case that the obsession is a distraction while the Iran war drags on.
And right now, Hegseth has bigger problems than a joke.
According to The Hill, Senate Democrats are quietly floating his ouster after the Nov. 3 election as the price for cooperating on key defense issues during the lame-duck session, and they may have some Republican support for shaking up Pentagon leadership, according to Senate sources.
So the former president is making fun of Hegseth in public while members of the Senate are discussing how to remove him in private.
Obama has a gift for getting an arena to laugh and nod at the same time, and Saturday was another example. Nobody does it better, and the man who last won Ohio for the Democrats in 2012 is still the best closer his party has.- Really American
