Brace for severe hunger – Nawakwi
EDITH Nawakwi has warned Zambians to brace themselves for severe hunger as a result of the country having recorded more than 1.3 million Metric tonnes deficit in maize production, Zambia’s staple food, after the government sold more than 1.5 million Metric Tonnes which was stocked in the strategic reserves.
Ms Nawakwi, the Forum for Development and Democracy (FDD) president says it was not surprising that the country was now facing acute food deficit because the Hakainde Hichilema regime, in its wisdom or lack of it decided to invade the country’s silos and sold all the maize after creating chaos in the agriculture sector by mismanaging the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP).
“At such a time like this, President Hakainde Hichilema should lead in uniting the country and not fomenting divisions. We have a broken window system in which we have a stressed, angry and broken down community.

We all know there is nothing positive you can say about the current regime.
Hunger is for those who shun Agriculture!
Even with drought, real farmers have plenty food!

Us who listened to KK about the importance of going back to the land have never been bothered by the cost of Mealie Meal! We live off our farms!
We can relate with President Dr HH because he speaks sense when it comes to the importance of farming!
Let the idle minds continue complaining and speaking very good English with hunger in their mouths!
Politics aside….madam Nawakwi hate and unforgiveness is lethal to health and is just like committing suicide. You are killing yourself faster with your current health. This president has passed through hell to reach where he is. His hate for crookedness and deceit is so much to be moved by your rantlings. You are just wasting your few years of life for nothing. Spend time to introspect your life with your grand children and your loved ones…..
My take is that everyone by now knows that we have a hunger situation in Zambia cos the president declared a national disaster.
What we need from opposition parties now is to help the people of Zambia how they can manage this situation. If Zambia is too big for you, you can help your party members since you have seen that the government is doing nothing.
But just opening your mouth because of bitterness will only reduce you to zero vote
