CATHOLIC PRIEST SAYS POST-ELECTION DIALOGUE POSSIBLE IF ANCHORED ON JUSTICE

By Justina Matandiko

Catholic Priest Father Augustine Mwewa says a national dialogue after the August 13th general elections is possible.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Father Mwewa however emphasized that any genuine dialogue must be anchored on justice.

He noted that the country has successfully held dialogue processes in the past and can do so again if stakeholders are willing to engage sincerely.

Father Mwewa has called for respect for the rule of law and humility among stakeholders, further urging restraint among UPND supporters who are said to be frustrating efforts towards the proposed national dialogue.

  1. In Zambia we have misleaders stroking the ego of losers.
Who wants to dialogue with people who clearly lost an election?
Those in prison simply have to clear themselves before a court of law. Justice is administered by courts. Not by aimless dialogue outside court.
People have already moved on from elections.
