Chatunga Mugabe At It Again – Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting ZACC Investigator

The son of the late former President Robert Mugabe, Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe, is at it again.

The controversial former First Family child is alleged to have assaulted an investigator from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) during an operation to seize two vehicles allegedly smuggled from South Africa, according to ZimLive.

According to ZACC records the Lamborghini Urus and Mercedes Benz were seized at a lodge and should have been back to South Africa where they are registered.

Chatunga is one of five men arrested today in connection with the incident.

According to the report, ZACC investigators were carrying out an operation to impound the two vehicles when they were confronted and one of the investigators was allegedly assaulted. Police moved in and arrested the five suspects who are now in custody assisting with investigations.

This is not the first time the 28-year-old youngest son of Robert and Grace Mugabe has clashed with the law.

In 2025, he was arrested in Mazowe following a violent confrontation at a gold mining concession linked to the Mugabe family. He and his bodyguards were charged with multiple counts of assault after several security personnel were injured.

Earlier this year, he was arrested in Johannesburg after a shooting at his Hyde Park mansion where a 23-year-old gardener was critically injured. SAPS seized a BMW fitted with flashing lights and a siren from the property as part of the investigation. He also faced a separate charge of assaulting a police officer in Beitbridge

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission and the Zimbabwe Republic Police are expected to release an official statement with full details of today’s arrests.

Investigations are ongoing.
