CHINESE GOVT TO GRANT ZAMBIA OVER US$28 MILLION TOWARDS DEBT REPAYMENT

    Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Li Jie has announced that his country will this year provide Zambia a grant amounting to us$28.8 million towards the country’s debt repayment.

    And ambassador Li says his country will not hesitate to continue working with Zambia in an effort to find a solution to the recovery of the economy.

    Speaking to journalists in Lusaka, the Chinese envoy to Zambia said his country has continued engaging with the Zambian government on how well they can arrange the bilateral financial debt situation for the country, a gesture he said is appreciated by his government.

    He further said the Chinese government is encouraged with the commitment from the Zambian government to treat all creditors equally.
