CITIZENS FIRST TO CONTEST THREE BY-ELECTIONS ONLY
Citizens First (CF) party says it will field candidates in three local government by-elections only.
CF spokesperson Mhango advanced that the Central Committee resolved to contest two wards in Chipili and one ward in Mpika.
Mhango stated that the Chipili decision honours an aspiring candidate who died during the recent general elections.

He added that the party had fielded candidates in those wards before and enjoys strong grassroot structures there.
Mhango observed that Citizens First will not participate in the Lumezi parliamentary or Mbala mayoral by-elections.
He noted that the party did not field candidates in those areas during the general elections.

Mhango said that the party has taken a strategic decision not to contest Mandevu Constituency.
He affirmed that Citizens First is reorganising and strengthening its structures in Lusaka Province.

Mhango said that the party participates in elections where it has roots, structures and a clear mandate.
He added that members and supporters in Chipili and Mpika should rally behind the candidates.
Mhango noted that the party wishes all participating political parties peaceful campaigns.
He affirmed that the position follows deliberations led by President Harry Kalaba.
