⚖️ COURT PLAYS VIDEO OF NAKACINDA’S CONTROVERSIAL CLAIMS IN SEDITION CASE
The Lusaka Magistrate’s Court today viewed a video in which faction Patriotic Front Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda is alleged to have claimed that government imported mealie-meal and maize contaminated with aflatoxins.
The footage forms part of ongoing proceedings in a case where Nakacinda faces charges of seditious practices.
According to the charge, Nakacinda is alleged to have uttered seditious statements on August 21, 2024, during a program on Millennium Radio, claiming that the contaminated imports had led to the deaths of dogs and an unspecified number of Zambian citizens.
The prosecution argues that these remarks constitute seditious conduct, a claim that now sits at the center of the court’s determination as the case unfolds.
