CUBA DENOUNCES TRUMP’S “SLANDER” AT THE UN
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has denounced what he called “slander” by U.S. President Donald Trump after Trump told the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that “Cuba is going to fall.”
In a post on X, Rodríguez said the U.S. government was unable to accept that Cuba is, and has the right to remain, a fully independent and sovereign country.
🗣️ “The United States government is incapable of accepting that Cuba is, and has the right to be, a fully independent and sovereign country,” Rodríguez wrote.
He added that “none of the false statements made by the president of the United States at the UN, nor any slander, can or will deny this fact.”
The exchange highlights the continued political confrontation between Washington and Havana as tensions between the two governments remain high.
