Former PF Lusaka City Mayor and Diplomat to the Republic of China Daniel Chisenga has urged his party to stop imposing MCC’S members on the General membership of the party.
Mr. Chisenga in an article below says the formular being used by the party is not right as it is not inspiring to ordinary members but to a handful of those being apointed.
He also wonders why the party has suddenly gone quite on the highly anticipated convention to elect a new party president.
In 2006, Mr. Chisenga was PF’S youngest councilor in Lusaka rising through the ranks.

PF and Rebranding reloaded!
I have been following with keen interest and observing the happenings in my Party PF which I joined in 2001 when I was just a very young man and became their first youngest Councillor in Lusaka in 2006.
So much need to be desired at the route of rebrand being taken.
Looking at the recent appointments in the MCCs shows now that for one to be relevant in my party they have to be Central Committe Members.
What is astonishing is that there is no formular whatsoever on who qualifies to be admitted as MCCs as long as you make noise or you have some connections your in! Simple as that!
What is more worrying is that most of these appointments are from two regions of this great country! For instance let’s look at the recent exits by few MCCs have have gone back to their Party the UPND, which regions did they come from? Was it not prudent that the replacements emanate from the said regions?
PF is a party that has a constitution, their is always a way to elevate hard working members who have been for the party for many years, we have had many Provincial Chairmen, Countless DC’s including the immediate past ones, several Permanent Secretaries, Former Diplomats, Countless Chairladies, Councillor’s, Mayors and not forgetting our current sitting MPs that are over 60 on the Party Ticket!
Scrutinizing the all list of MCCs I won’t be suprised in the coming few months that the LIST of MCCS will exceed 120 plus
The PF we had prior to the 2011 elections when Sata was being ushered into state house is totally different from this PF that is in the opposition because at that time Sata was very popular and could hold a convention ti appoint and anoint MCCs without anyone raising eyebrows !
Prior to the 2021 defeat, our general membership demanded and cried that they are given an opportunity to choose democratically their own members, this fell on deaf ears as the Party still felt it was very popular and could use the Cobras 🐍 formular! What did we see, many candidates spent so much resources to campaign and only to be told that the MCCs have been appointed! Many received the shock of their lifetime. And while our colleagues in the UPND were labelled always as dictators, they went ahead with a transparent Virtual Conference and democratically elected their National Management Committes. Ala Tatusambilila, let’s continue imposing the MCCs on the people and see how the rebrand will go.
Today is June 11, the countrywide membership wanted to even just hear about the long awaited Conference and it’s all quite kwati menshi yapakashima.
We may be happy as few members to celebrate that yes ba Kambwili, ba Mwamba, ba GBM, ba Mutofwe are now in the MCC, what about the rest of the membership who deserve to there and are fully qualified!
Others will not tell you but because I have an independent mind and can make an observation others will keep quite and all you will say when you hear they are socialists or KBF or UPND continue saying they are non factors, and wait for your MPs in 4 years if you continue with your route if your numbers will go up!
Let the party become more democratic than it was before it formed Government better still that they are off the Rail now!
Let’s Preach what we practice!
