DOCTORS ASSOCIATION CONDEMNS PF’s USE OF DECEASED PHOTO…

The Resident Association of Zambia has come out to sharply condemn the Patriotic Front Party for using an image of a Doctor who died, in rather negligent circumstances, on a campaign poster.

In a Statement made available to the media, Dr. Kenly Chisanga, the Vice President of the Association, has indicated that the association is beyond displeased at the atrocious and repugnant use of it’s former member Dr. Abigail Mulenga’s photo on political adverts.

“The Resident Doctors Association of Zambia is beyond displeased at the atrocious and repugnant use of one of its deceased member Dr. Abigail Mulenga’s photo on political adverts who passed away on 24th August 2020, without the consent of the family.” Read the statement.

“We must clarify that Doctors are nonpartisan unless they opt to do so of their own volition. The use of Dr. Abigail Mulenga’s photo on political adverts goes against the ethics of this noble profession.” Continued Dr. Chisanga.

He has further demanded the Patriotic Front to immediately withdraw Dr. Mulenga’s photos from all political adverts and render a public apology to the family for the inhumane action.

Dr. Abigail Mulenga died last year on 24th August, 2020, and her death sparked some controversy in the country with her family blaming the system for failing her, leading to her death.

The Patriotic Front’s use of her photo has also sparked debate on social media with many citizens condemning the act as insensitive.131363641_1436445923360969_3736006725293151393_n
