PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says government will find innovative ways of making financial opportunities available for the youth without security being a challenge.

Speaking at the 2022 National Youth Indaba held in Lusaka, President Hichilema said the most important security was that youths were honest when accessing the funds.

“The intention is for the youth to access the facilities. Security is one of the constraints, so we have to find and will find innovative ways of making financial opportunities available for the youth and the security must not be the challenge. The Security that is important is that you are honest yourself,’’ he told multitudes of youths at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference Centre on Friday.

‘’Always ensure that as a cooperative you are honest, it is known where you live and have a business plan or a business you are doing already and you are traceable, the rest you define yourself. But the idea is for you to access the facilities and security should not be a hindrance. But don’t get money and run away, no. Get the money and use it prudently for it to grow so that you can benefit. Don’t buy a BMW from the facility of CDF, that is consumption; invest. When you invest, you will have a return income stream to sustain yourself.”

President Hichilema assured youths that all concerns they raised during the Indaba would be dealt with.

He said a team would be constituted that would be working with government ministries to deal with the challenges brought out by the youth.

“To make this practical, there will be a small team, interactive team that will be working with various ministries that will be set up. But it ought to be logged. I am an old-fashioned fellow, I take notes. So, I will pass my notes to the team here so that we can schedule,’’ said President Hichilema.

‘’So, if it requires amendment, see how my mind works slightly different, I don’t find solution to a problem I don’t know. First, I want to know what the problem is, then we can find a remedy, solution.”
