ECZ HAS NO POWER TO SUSPEND THE CONSTITUTION

How can ECZ gag the media and direct the media houses who cover and to cover when the Constitution and the Electoral Process Act awards rights to registered or contesting political parties and candidates to access and be covered by the media?

Directive from ECZ to media houses not cover political parties whose campaign activities have been suspended for 14 days is not only illegal but inconsistent with the provision of the Constitution and therefore unconstitutional.

It is a blatant breach of article 50 of the Constitution which awards rights to political parties and candidates to access the media especially during elections.

Does ECZ got the power to suspend certain provisions of the Constitution and even the Electoral Process Act?

Certainly not. Illegality and unconstitutionalism yaya sana mu Zambia.

ECZ should not contribute to the shrinking civic, political, media and democratic space. Twakana.
