FIKILE MBALULA WANTS THE DA REMOVED FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY AFTER ANC’S CONSTITUTIONAL COURT VICTORY!

ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has called for the ANC leadership and its GNU partners to review the DA’s continued participation in the Government of National Unity following the Constitutional Court’s ruling in favour of the ANC.

The dispute follows the ANC’s legal battle to have 181 candidates included on the ballot for the 4 November 2026 local government elections after a nomination-submission problem led to their exclusion.

The Constitutional Court ruled in the ANC’s favour, allowing the affected candidates to contest the elections in six municipalities.

Mbalula’s call puts fresh pressure on the relationship between the ANC and DA, two major parties sharing power in the national government despite differences over policy and political strategy.

The DA opposed the ANC’s court application, arguing that election rules and deadlines must be respected. The disagreement has now raised questions about whether the two parties can continue working together under the GNU.

⚠️ Mbalula has called for a review of the DA’s participation; this does not mean the DA has already been removed from the GNU.

🔥 Could this dispute put the future of the Government of National Unity at risk?
