  1. Zambia and Africa ‘s Toughest Police Officer?
    Very Interesting!
And who conferred such accolades on our Greatest General Yuyi? And when was this done?
    I missed the Party!
Congratulations , though belated,to our Own Africa ‘s Greatest.
When he becomes the World ‘s Greatest, by managing Kids scrounging a living in disused Dump sites in Chingola, I will surely not miss the Party!

    • @One Hundred Thousand Kwacha NKUKU Man, come on, you’re better than this. Surely you can’t justify lawlessness that it is because of hunger or age. No, this needs to be dealt with quickly before it reaches a level we can’t contain, like the way it is now with corruption.

  2. During the 1970s and 80s, Ndola was gripped by lawlessness. Armed robberies were almost a daily occurrence. Gunfire was a staple of the night. Armed robbers used to strike in the town centre and industrial area in broad daylight. They were ruthless and killed a number of innocent people apart from committing r@pe and assault. Ndola was then the commercial centre of the country before most activities moved to Lusaka because of forex auctioning.

The then Copperbelt commanding officer, Mr. J J Zulu, failed to contain the situation. Enter one Mr. Darius Kalebo who was appointed Copperbelt commanding officer. At one time he was ambushed on the Ndola/Kitwe dual carriageway by bandits. That is how delicate the situation was. Within two years, he cleaned up Ndola and since then Ndola has been quiet. He went on to be the Inspector General of Police. I still have a lot of respect for Mr. Darius Kalebo.

The incident in Chiwempala is a chance to reset the security system. Jerabos are a serious threat to national security. They have exhibited total contempt for the police and law enforcement agencies in general. They must be dealt with firmly and conclusively. Our police is in a decayed state and needs overhauling. Too much time is spent extorting money from helpless motorists. Almost every cop is a traffic cop. Why?

  3. Thanks JMC for your comments. I knew former Inspector General of Police, Mr. Darius Kalebo. In fact, he looked after me and I lived at his house when he was Commanding Officer in Mbala when my uncle was transferred to Mpika where I could not accompany him because there was no secondary school. I was in form 4 then in 1970. We were not related but he was just kind.
