GODAZA CONGRATULATES MUTTI, DEPUTY SPEAKERS
The Governance and Development Advocates Zambia (GODAZA) has congratulated Nelly Mutti on her unopposed retention as Speaker of the National Assembly.
In a statement issued today, GODAZA Executive Director Elias Mulenga said the outcome reflected confidence in her leadership and supported President Hakainde Hichilema’s Grow Zambia agenda.
Mulenga added that the unopposed return of Attractor Malungo Chisangano as First Deputy Speaker was equally significant for advancing the Grow Zambia agenda.
He observed that both Nelly Mutti and Attractor Malungo Chisangano had retained their positions without challenge.
Mulenga noted that this demonstrated broad consensus within the National Assembly.
He advanced that experienced leadership would strengthen parliamentary oversight and legislative scrutiny.
Mulenga said that the election of Nshamba Mulondwe Muzungu as Second Deputy Speaker was a positive development.
He affirmed that the Independent Member of Parliament for Mufumbwe Constituency secured 166 votes against Vincent Mwale’s 58.
Mulenga emphasised that the new leadership team should promote accountability, transparency and national development.
He further said the team should align its work with the Grow Zambia agenda to attract investment and create jobs.
Mulenga stressed that strong legislative support is essential for the success of the Grow Zambia agenda.
GODAZA pledged to support efforts that advance good governance, sustainable development and the Grow Zambia agenda.
