GOVERNMENT ACCUSED OF SECRET INVESTIGATION INTO FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU’S DEATH

The family of the late former President Edgar Lungu has alleged that the government secretly hired a private investigator to probe claims that Mr. Lungu had been poisoned, without the family’s knowledge.
Family spokesperson Makebi Zulu said the private investigator, in collaboration with South African authorities, visited the morgue on 23rd September 2025 in an attempt to access Mr. Lungu’s body adding that th investigator claimed to have received a docket file from a family member raising suspicions of poisoning.
Mr. Zulu confirmed that Mr. Lungu’s remains are currently with Two Mountains, although the family does not have precise details of the location.
He said Two Mountains has been tasked with providing updates on developments regarding the former president’s body.
Mr Zulu said When the family sought clarification from the government through their representative Secretary to Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa a comprehensive response was not provided.
The spokesperson has also expressed concern over the activities of a South African movement, Progressive Forces of South Africa, which allegedly filed a report with the South African Police Service claiming that Mr. Lungu had been murdered.
Mr. Zulu said the movement’s actions were used to disparage the Lungu family and vilify the late president.
Despite the challenges he emphasized that the Lungu family remains committed to ensuring that the former president is laid to rest in a manner that honors his dignity and wishes.
Has Zulu ever seen the body? If no why? Or does he know who has seen it apart from the mortuary attendants.Is it normal to keep the body without regular checks? Who shall be answerable in case something happens to the body? People always want to keep quiet about this matter but they are troubled by many unanswered questions.
Why are you people so interested in the body? PF members and neutral citizens are not demanding to see the body. It is only Hakainde and his followers that keep insisting on accessing the body. Why?
All I can tell you is that a dead president will be buried in that grave someone dug, and it will not be ECL. Like it or not.

Does the state need permission from any party to investigate as suspected murder?
Accused? Problem you think you are above the law? Nooo!
Even when the body is brought back to Zambia, there will be postmortem.
The cause of death has to be established before burying. I assume it’s the same with RSA.
Bwana you have no where to hide.
But I blame the government.The government should have verified the body they and then and make investigations if it was necessary.Because we dealing with proper mafias here.
Makebi Zulu’s display of ignorance is now at full display, from past judgements which are enforceable, it is very clear that government has been given authority over the body of ECL, therefore government have the power to do their own determination over the same body. For the family to treat government as nobodies over the body is total lack of respect for government and to some extent we can say that government has exercised a lot of restraint which is now being taken for weakness. To start bringing in the issue of a bishop who was in possession of stolen property that was done under the leadership of the deceased and who knows how to cuddle is a non-issue that has nothing to do with the burial of the deceased. Zulu must pray that their current attempt at court does not go against them because if it does, government must now not compromise but go full throttle to bury this wrangle. Government has been taken for a ride and they must now show that they have authority and their restraint has been taken for granted. Zulu must engage government, this idea of addressing the nation over an issue which is between government and the Lungu family is also not necessary and just shows how big headed he has become as he tries to gain cheap popularity for his own ends. Zambians are feed up with this issue and the best Makebi can do is leave us out of this issue and address government whom he seems to have issues with and not the people of Zambia. We are no longer interested. Burry your hatchet with government and stop bothering us by trying to keep us awake to listen to this stale issue. Government must now pull rank and show Makebi that they are in charge. His propensity to address the nation instead of the party to the impasse which is government is one way of championing his childish smear campaign which should not be tolerated. Now he feels each time he can just wake up and congregate the nation over a stale issue, enough is enough, government should put its foot down. Can’t you see what Makebi is doing?????
Forget negotiations and let the court decide whether he will be buried by the state or by the family wishes and that will bring an end to this farce but one thing is for sure, either way both parties have to be sure that the corpse is that of lungu and not an imposter and for that neutral people will have to carry out an identity check including DNA testing.
You know, what i have come to learn and understand in this issue of Lungu is that, they thought they were clever and using their stollen money be seen to be big and find remorse from the majority Zambians but it has turned to be the opposite and now they /you are in very serious trouble which they/you know and just trying to pretend as if they/you don’t know.
1. If they/you humbled yourselves when thst time your lungu died it was going to be well with you because certain issues could not have been known, but now there’s the issue of using multiple passports sone from different countries with a foreign name.
2. We also hear from the grapevine that, at that hospital no one died on 5th June 2025 by the name of Lungu but only a Zimbabwean. This information, if it is true then it could be very embarrassing story for the whole former president to act in such a crocked manner.
3. Talk of the other party where the family of him lungu, the sister insulting the AG and the family bringing the issue of witchcraft meaning they are witches and believe and practice it themselves..
4. The insinsitace of appeals in SA courts even when you have continuously lost but what you want is not known.unlike here in Zambia SA is a different Country more advanced than ours they even already know their- your crookdness.

At this stage you have reached with this usdue and are moving this makebi and Esther, already it is heard that they / you have alot of mansions and a fleet of cars gotten through corruption invested in South Africa and many other things you have spocken carelessly you will definitely end up regreating.
