GOVERNMENT REQUESTS VATICAN TO RECALL ARCHBISHOP ALICK BANDA
The UPND Government has requested the Vatican to remove embattled Archbishop Dr. Alick Banda from the Lusaka Archdiocese, according to sources.
Foreign Affairs sources have disclosed to KBN TV that the Ministry has raised a diplomatic exchange – note verbal- to the Vatican raising Government’s displeasure with the conduct of Archbishop Dr. Banda whom they have accused of being political.
And yesterday, Vatican representative in Zambia, the Nuncio Archbishop Gian Perici, spoke to President Hakainde Hichilema, sources have further revealed without disclosing the contents of their discussion.
Sources say Government want Dr. Alick Banda recalled from Lusaka as he was deemed to be “disturbing” Government and would not be wanted in his current portfolio in the running up to this year’s elections.
According to sources, an arrest of Archbishop Banda is imminent but Government is willing to stop the process if he is recalled from Lusaka.

This is fake news. KBN TV is like Koswe. No journalistic ethics, totally biased. They represent two extremes of the political spectrum.
Archbishop Alick Banda is not on a diplomatic posting for him to be recalled by the Vatican and in any case, the Vatican has established mechanisms for collecting information on the political happenings in Zambia and won’t listen exclusively to the government version of events.
The story is trying to put a political spin to a straight forward matter of abuse of authority by the PF regime. The bible says, “bad company corrupts good character” (1 Cor. 15:33) and “he who walks with the wise becomes wise but the companion of fools suffers harm” (Proverbs 13:20). If you associate with thieves you will be caught up in their schemes.
It is unfortunate that a high ranking official of the Christian faith would be caught up in such unsavoury circumstances. An overseer must be above reproach, according to 1 Tim.3:2.
It tarnishes the reputation of the Christian faith and gives ammunitions to people like Mr. Kagame who has such a low regard for Christianity.
They should just excommunicate him so that he goes full time into politics this PF cadre. Follow the example of frank bwalya who didnt hide behind the cloth but came out in the open.

He has a case, why not arrest him and take him to court
It has always been the desire of Hakainde to remove the Archbishop Dr Alick Banda as Archbishop of Lusaka Diocese.
The ZRA vehicle issue is just a smokescreen.
But the Vatican knows what has been happening from the time Hakainde took over.

Whatever the Propaganda, come tomorrow, or the other day Archbishop Dr Alick Banda will continue his Priestly Work as Archbishop of Lusaka Diocese.
