GOVERNMENT TO GET RID OF ROGUE POLICE OFFICERS – MINISTER MWIIMBU

Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU says investigations to identify rogue Police officers will NOT be restricted to a particular period.

Mr. MWIIMBU says the due diligence to determine the integrity of officers will cover the entire Police Service.

He was responding to Kabwata Member of Parliament ANDREW TAYENGWA who asked Mr. MWIIMBU whether the Ministry of Home Affairs will consider doing due diligence on officers employed between 2011 and 2021.

Mr. MWIIMBU said even though he is aware of allegations that recruitment of Police officers during a specified period was not done on merit, assessments will be done on all serving officers.

The Home Affairs Minister has reiterated his commitment to rid the Police Service of rogue officers.

And Mr. MWIIMBU said preliminary investigations have revealed that the firearms used in the IBA Director General, GUNTILA MULEYA’s death are illegal.

  1. This man is a disgrace. He is not even worthy of any political office. These are the people that make HH to look like he is not working. He was supposed to start cleaning the police service just the moment he was appointed not after damage has been done. You are lucky HH is your friend otherwise an unbiased President would have fired you by now.

  2. That will be nice. There are some who cannot even write their names or interpret the law and are in the police service because they were simply PF cadres. Goes for some toy and malingering soldiers recruited during the same period. Those who were reporting home or to the party that such and such an instructor was giving them hard training. To this end, some instructors lost their jobs or were instantly demoted.
