HAKAINDE HICHILEMA MOURNS MUNADA TRADERS
_Kasama, Northern province_

A sombre environment characterized Kasama district in northern province as thousands gathered to pay their last respect to 19 market operators locally known as ‘Munada’ traders who died after a truck they were traveling in overturned and plunged into Chambeshi river in Mungwi district a fortnight ago.

United Party for National Development Hakainde Hichilema described this day as a dark day for Zambia as a country. The UPND leader who was represented by National women’s Chairperson Doreen Mwamba and National Youth leaders led by Cindy Kauka and Stephen Chikota donated bags of meali meal and other food stuff towards the funeral.

“The President is devastated over this great loss and he sends his sincere condolences to the bereaved families and he will surely visit all the affected families in due course.” explained Doreen Mwamba

“May the Good Lord open the gates of heaven and allow the souls of our departed brothers and sisters rest in eternal peace” said Mr. Hichilema in a statement made on his behalf.
