´HH must stop d£ath row lies´
…because it never happened says Makebi Zulu

Prominent Lusaka lawyer Makebi Zulu has advised Zambia´s President Hakainde Hichilema to stop telling the nation lies about a ´non-existent´ d£ath row story that never happened under predecessor and sixth President Edgar Lungu.
Mr Zulu said just because Mr. Hichilema keeps repeating the ´d£ath row´ narrative down the throats of Zambians over and over doesn’t make it true.
“President Hichilema has never ever been on d£ath row he is lying again and that’s why we keep advising his handlers to script him,” said Makebi, “he keeps saying all sorts of things that are totally untrue and unpresidential which could have been avoided if he was reading a script.”
The influential lawyer ´schooled´ Mr Hichilema that for one to be on the d£ath list or death row in legal jargon, “one must have been tried by a competent court, found guilty of committing a capital offence and then sentenced to death. None of this ever happened to Mr Hichilema, why does he keep pushing this lie?”
Mr. Zulu extended the same advice to the narrative Mr Hichilema has been peddling that there was “bl00dshed and pangas and guns on the streets and markets everyday” in Zambia under President Lungu, calling the story “alarming”.
Mr Zulu said, admittedly, there was caderism in Zambia under PF that cost the party an election defeat but to say, “there was bl00d on the streets and g^ns everywhere EVERYDAY is a bit misleading yet again on the part of President Hichilema.”
Mr Zulu instead told President Hichilema to sack his failed Inspector General of police Graphael Musamba and replace him with a civil person that respects human rights and rule of law.
“The President wants to use the military to police Zambians that is wrong,” Mr Zulu said, “the role of the army is to protect the territory of Zambia from outside enemies not its citizens, but Mr Hichilema can’t understand even these simple things as he protects Mr Musamba, the MOST incompetent IG Zambia has ever had since independence.”
The lawyer also advised President Hichilema to come to terms that he is now President and stop the vindictive path he has taken to punish President Lungu and his entire family and close friends using law enforcement.
“Anyone who can read a simple script can see that President Hichilema is out to punish the entire family of President Lungu and associates just to get to Dr Lungu” said Mr Zulu, “it is wrong Mr President stop punishing your predecessor.
“That is why President Lungu says he is under virtual arrest because Mr Hichilema can’t allow him to travel abroad for medical attention or meetings,” said Mr Makebi, “he can’t jog he can’t get out of his house; he can’t walk he can’t go to the city without Mr Hichilema sending police after him…that is virtual house arrest.”
Mr Zulu was speaking on KBNTV in reaction to an almost three-hour long press conference Mr Hichilema held whose gist was his hatred for president Lungu and other political enemies.
The Zambian president ironically blamed God for the famine the country is facing and failed to address various economic ills including prolonged load shedding Zambians of more than 15 hours Zambians are facing because of gross management failure at ZESCO under Victor Mapani.

Makebi, were you there in Mukobeko where HH and his compatriots were?
You were a just Minister and your own constituency removed you with someone else because you were busy not performing your role as MP.
You want to speak and defend someone who went to Voice of America and lied by delfecting to HH’s personal experience and insight of it.
I read statement sometime back from somewhere that the brain for a human being works 24hrs a day but stops working the minute one joins PF and I tend to agree with this statement because even people who are supposed to make sense in PF don’t make sense at all.
Mr. Makebi Zulu says for one to be said to be on death row they much be tried by a competent court and then convicted and he further says non of these two happened for president HH. Is he saying under PF the court of law which tried president HH were not competent because state discontinued the case via a nolle prosequi through the courts.

What amazes me is why police have not arrested and charged Antonyo Mwanza with conspiracy to murder.
As a lawyer, this Makebi Zulu should know that even if the act wasn’t carried out, those labouring the intention to murder are guilty.
I totally agree with this writer. I find the learned lawyer very absurd and actually annoying. And no wonder PF lost and can not rebrand with such minds in the party. For one to say there was no shedding of blood, that army can not be called upon to help when there is a situation requiring their hand, that the president keeps repeating and saying things that are unpresidential, that president Lungu is under house arrest, etc; are utter lies from him as a learned lawyer. No wonder current president says, “you’ve pipo doing wrong things and then pipo would be there clapping for them”, really?
We’re really finished as a nation when those that we think can bring about meaningful changes to the nation come out in the manner Ba Makeb does so. You keep annoying pipo and you will see come 2026, and beyond; no one wants to hear about the PF any more. This was a very strong party destroyed only during the reign of president Lungu and now further destroyed by the same pipo who do not want to change the strategy. Surely we want a proper opposition and PF should have been a sure opposition but this self destruction agenda is certainly not healthy for the party. Even other smaller opposition parties that we thought probably could take the position of PF have lost it by aligning themselves with this finished project. I shed tears because now we risk going into a one party state due to the magnitude of the loss PF and all other opposition parties are headed come 2026 elections. Mark my words and watch the space. It will be white wash, and unfortunate enough, will drive us into mono party. Please get to the drawing board and think of the best way to rebrand as there is still a bit of time before next election. This goes for the other parties please change your approach, this is timely advice and comes for free.
Hakainde is a shameless liar. He came out of prison unscathed. And he is now the president. Why does he have to complain all the time instead of delivering on his promises that got him elected?

I was full of hope that we had finally found a Saviour for our country. 3 months down the line, I realised he was just a conman, a liar.

ZESCO has failed zambians completely. The worst part is the scheduled load shadding they publish has never been followed by zesco. They switch off anytime and restore power any time with no apologies or notices. No matter what has happened the top manangement will cost UPND votes. Zesco is politically identified with the govt of the today it good performance is a plus to govt of the today and its failure is a minus to govt of the day.

Death row without conviction? In Zambia? We are not that crazy or lawless
HH is one term president mark my words there is too many enemies from the most powerful sections of Zambia that it’s beyond repair. Even HH was to openly condemn and apologise, these sections will not take the apology seriously as a leopard will not change its appearance or spots. Dialogue is water under the bridge.
