HH, Mwanawasa corruption comparisons an insult – Sishuwa
COMPARING late president Levy Mwanawasa to President Hakainde Hichilema’s commitment to fight corruption is an insult on his memory, says Sishuwa Sishuwa.
Dr. Sishuwa, historian and senior lecturer at South Africa’s Stellenbosch University said Mr Hichilema has no commitment to fight corruption that was why he has not declared his assets publicly.
He said there were two reasons why the fight against corruption was failing under the UPND, the first one being the lack of an example from the head of State to be transparent.
Dr. Sishuwa said Mr. Hichilema should have made the declaration he made to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) public which would have motivated the officials under him to do the same.
That’s your own poor opinion and no one can buy it. Everyone including yourself knows that corruption is bad and should not be allowed to engulf our society and we don’t need any motivation for that. You, you are busy making noise everyday, what motivates you if HH has not declared his assets?

I have said it here many many times. You can not compare a tribalist conman to Levy or KK. It is a treasonable insult to do that.

It’s funny how some people want to portray the late former presidents KK and LPM as infallible people which is not true. Yes KK and LPM did good things for the country but they also made mistakes just like everyone of us does. For instance, KK inherited a very rich country even richer than South Africa, South Korea to name just a few but he ran it down to become one of the poorest by the time he left power. And talk of democracy, it was non existent during his reign so he was not an angel.
And coming to LPM, his he not the man responsible for the sale of KCM to Vedanta for $25m? And sure everyone knows the issues with Vedanta which are still with us to this day. Furthmore, the taskforce on corruption he created, we know the people who ran it and how it turned to be in the end, so please don’t paint these people to angels when they were not. Yes, president HH has made mistakes in some areas but he has also done extremely well in many areas and he is the right person we have at the moment to resuscitate and build the economy to where we should be as a country in the years to come.
