HICHILEMA USED EMOTIONS TO CANCEL PRESIDENT LUNGU’S NATIONAL MOURNING – LUBINDA

PATRIOTIC FRONT (PF) Vice President Given Lubinda ex justice minister says President Hakainde Hichilema reacted emotionally in cancelling the national mourning period meant to honour late former president Edgar Lungu.

And Lubinda says people will still mourn Lungu from everywhere else except in public, adding that no law prescribes how long a person can be mourned.

Speaking when he featured on Lusaka Radio, Friday, Lubinda said the Head of State wouldn’t have cancelled the national mourning period if Lungu’s body had arrived in the country. “He used the word ‘ended’.

It was not ended, it was cancelled. It is entirely up to government to do what they wish to do with the governance of the country.

  1. Lubinda, honestly you wanted us to continue mourning a person who we are now not even sure whether he’s truly dead? For us, the drama just had to end sooner than later. Meanwhile, you’re very much at liberty to continue “mourning”.

  2. Lubinda please give us and our President a break. HH and his government gave you the liberty you wanted to have a private funeral for Lungu, so mind your business as we mind our business also. Stop talking about HH and UPND, talk about your PF and the burial arrangements in SA, we have nothing to do with Lungu’s funeral anymore, we are just fed up.

  3. Lubinda you can go and hang. We’re not interested anymore to hear anything about this Lungu guy. Whatever you’ll do with him it’s none of our business. Please stop issuing statements about Lungu anymore.

  4. Lubinda you can mourn for as long as you want and wish. We are done with that circus of a funeral. We are now focused on the issues of bread and butter. Get all junkies now to the airport or Intercity bus terminus for South Africa to attend the private funeral twapapata. Leka tubike akabwali pa table muntu wandi.

  5. The passing of former Sixth President Edgar Chagwa Lungu should not be leveraged to hold the government hostage or to undermine the current administration. The PF and the Lungu family, by retaining the body in South Africa, were not only punishing and humiliating the government but also seizing an opportunity to impose unwarranted demands on it.

Did the hypocritical Given Lubinda truly expect the government to prolong the National Mourning period, given that it is the PF and the Lungu family’s own ingratitude that has led to their embarrassment? They asserted their intention for a private burial for the former president; so why the complaints when President Hakainde Hichilema concluded the National Mourning? Did Given Lubinda anticipate that the mourning period would be extended merely to allow the PF to continue their unethical practice of disparaging President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration? Now that the National Mourning has concluded, the Lungu family and the PF must make their own decisions without blaming the government or accusing it of negligence.

Their malicious plots against President Hakainde Hichilema have utterly failed. Throughout the National Mourning period, President Hakainde Hichilema, a man of integrity, compassion, and resilience, maintained his composure, calmness, sobriety, and steadiness, refraining from reacting to the derogatory comments directed at him by the PF and its affiliates.

  6. And these are tge kind of people we expect to lead us?
Zambians choose wisely. Statements made by adults in a wreckless way, show you how some people would lead if given a chance. How immature of you Mr. Lubinda for you to utter such words let alone language. You were not brought up to speak in such a manner let alone conduct yourself in such a manner. This reflects poorly on your parents.

  7. But if I may ask, in what capacity do you have the right to declare national mourning bu Lubinda? Your hatred and behavior no difference with Sodom and Gomorrah. F
