HICHILEMA WARNS EDGAR LUNGU TO STOP CHAMPIONING COME BACK, CALLING THE ACT STUPID (KUTUMPA UKO)
…I am not supposed to live myself, I should have died a longtime ago, but God protected us

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has described the call of former president Edgar Chagwa Lungu to come back into active politics as stupid (kutumpa uko).
And President Hichilema said he was not supposed to live, he could have died a longtime ago but he was still alive because God protected him.
Addressing party officials in Kitwe, Monday, President Hichilema said many people died at the hands of the PF especially in the last seven years of former President Edger Lungu’s regime.
He said it was under this period UPND cadre Lawrence Banda was killed in Kaoma during a by-election.
President Hichilema who kept on saying kutumpa uko said at no time will Zambia go back to the ugly scenes as witnessed under the PF regime.
“We will not allow our country to go back into those dark days ikona man, Ikona man, God saved most of you, I am not supposed to be alive myself, I should have died a longtime ago, but God protected us, but in a way a part died like Lawrence Banda, so many of which we didn’t get to know who was killed by who, a part of you is gone, a part of me is gone, those are our family members. Those are citizens of Zambia, ndebwelelapo, uleikala pesa? Uleikala pesa so that you start killing all our young people? Kutumpa Uko, kutumpa uko and I am serious I am not joking. You have never heard me talk like that, kutumpa uko,” he said.
President Hichilema pointed out the attacks that had engulfed the Copperbelt Youth Day celebrations accusing the PF to have been behind the violence.
He said Zambia was not Lusaka but everywhere else, adding that commemorations of that nature should take place anywhere without people hacking each other.
The Head of State said it was the highest order of stupidness to start throwing machetes.
“We have a youth day in Kitwe on the Copperbelt, it has never happened before where a President comes to lay wreath and show people of Zambia that Zambia is not Lusaka. Zambia is not Lusaka alone, Zambia is Chipata, Zambia is Mongu, Zambia is Kasma, Zambia is Mansa, Zambia is Choma, Zambia is Solwezi kaofela. Now we come for a peaceful youth day now people start throwing machetes, kutumpa uko, kutumpa uko. No normal Zambian will allow the violence we saw under the seven years of those colleagues, seven years of those colleagues, will not be intimated,” he said.
And President Hichilema has warned that it is stupidness of its highest order for anyone to start thinking that he will not be followed just because of the system is slow to catch them, in apparent reference to former President Edgar Lungu.
“We shall fight corruption, if you stole public money the system will follow it is the law, if the system is slow and you think it is not coming for you kutumpa uko. Anyway, our duty is to take our country from where we found it to up there, that is our duty. Fimbi twakana, fimbi twakana, ifyabuwelewele twakana, we just want to take the country from the bottom where people took it. They inherited a good country and they took it to the bottom, now we have to lift it from the bottom and take it where it belongs. That is what we are doing everyday and every time, tatulala utulo, iyo tuletontonkya, how we can quickly take the country up there,” he said.
President Hichilema said if he had allowed his party officials and cadres to fight back after the 2021 general election victory, most people could have died.
He said he decided to protect everyone even those that beat them because Zambia was bigger than an individual and the pain he went through.
“Imisepela, abana banshiwa amasukulu fyonsefye mukwai twalanda that is our duty that is what preoccupied our mind and not ifyakale ifyabuwelewele. Twaisa ku youth day mwatampa ulubuli kutumpa uko, kutumpa uko. If I had allowed these people to avenge to revenge after the 2021 general election victory people would have died in this country. People would have died in this country, we said the country is bigger than the pain we went through and we protected everybody including him (Edgar Lungu), we protected everyone even balya abaletupuma we protected them, now we come here you want to come with those ugly things kutumpa uko, anyway our duty is to take the country up there,” said President Hichilema.
