HIGH COURT JUDGE WARNS OF NO FURTHER ADJOURNMENTS IN CHANGALA’S CASE
Lusaka High Court Judge Davies Chibwili has warned that he will not allow any further adjournments in the matter in which Civil Rights activist Brebner Changala is charged with seditious practices.
This follows Mr. Changala’s submission that he was not ready to proceed because his lawyer was not before the court, adding that he had only been informed this morning.
Mr. Changala further told the court that he was ready to open his defence with four witnesses.
In this matter, Mr. Changala pleaded not guilty to one count of seditious practices, contrary to the laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that Mr. Changala engaged in activities intended to incite rebellion against the authority of the State.
The matter has since been adjourned to October 20, 2026, for commencement of the defence.
