Houthis Accuse Saudi Arabia of Recruiting Syrian Fighters for Yemen
Yemen’s Houthi movement has accused Saudi Arabia of recruiting hundreds of Syrian fighters and sending them into Yemen through Saudi territory as part of an alleged effort to replicate the events that led to the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria.
According to sources cited by Al-Akhbar, a Lebanese newspaper affiliated with Hezbollah, Türkiye allegedly assisted in transporting the fighters to areas including Marib, Al-Jawf, Aden and Hadramawt.
The sources also claimed that some of the Syrian fighters received training at Saudi locations near Al-Wadiah and Sharorah before being deployed to Yemen.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have not been cited here as confirming the claims.
