Houthis Claim Repeated Strikes on Riyadh Airport as Saudi Arabia Faces Escalating Threat
Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10 and 11, marking a sharp escalation in the conflict with Saudi Arabia.
The first attack on October 10 reportedly killed at least 12 people and injured hundreds, according to the Saudi-led coalition. A separate strike the following day killed one person and injured 11, Saudi aviation authorities said.
The repeated attacks forced the airport to suspend operations while authorities assessed the damage and reviewed security measures.
The escalation raises concerns over regional security, the risk of Saudi retaliation, and potential disruption to aviation and commercial shipping across the wider Middle East.
