I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT’S SO SPECIAL WITH BANNING RALLIES – KAMBWILI…it’s difficult to campaign without rallies

Chishimba Kambwili says he doesn’t understand what is so special with banning the holding of campaign rallies when places like City Market are flooded with people.

And Kambwili says the helicopter assigned to him was hired by the ruling party, and he would use it for the whole duration of the campaigns.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kambwili, who recently rejoined the ruling PF, and is campaigning for the re-election of President Edgar Lungu, said it was a very big challenge to do door-to-door campaigns especially when some ruling party campaigners don’t even understand the party manifesto.

“Like I have said it’s very difficult to do campaigning without rallies. Not everybody is gifted to explain the manifesto, some don’t even understand what manifesto is,” Kambwili said, adding that party leaders would often be required to come in and explain the manifestos to the people.

“For instance, look at City Market, people are still crowded…in churches people are crowded…they are crowded like no man’s business. I don’t understand what is so special about public rallies,” Kambwili said.

On the helicopter assigned to him for use in the campaigns, in the same manner as in 2016, Kambwili said the chopper had been hired for him by the ruling party.

“It is something I will be using for the rest of the campaign…it’s the party that has hired it,” said Kambwili, adding that he could not be self-sponsoring a programme that was a party programme.
