I never betrayed the people of Kanchibiya for voting Bill 7 – Sunday Chanda

By Sunday Chanda

My Brief Response to an interesting headline:

They say I have “betrayed” the people of Kanchibiya…

I find that interesting because the same people who elected me still meet me, still talk to me, still bring me their problems, and still judge me by what I deliver, not by which political choir I sing in.

If serving people, pushing development, and speaking sense is now called “betrayal,” then maybe our political dictionary needs an update.

In Kanchibiya, we don’t vote for party slogans, we vote for results.

And luckily for me, development doesn’t belong to PF, UPND or any alphabet. It belongs to the people.

As for losing my seat…well, that decision does not belong to commentators.

It belongs to the same electorate I supposedly “betrayed”… and I still live among them, not in press statements. 😄

SCC.

  1. Ka 3 million Kwacha is sweet. After spending days at a lower zambezi lodge before voting for Bill 7, some dogs are still barking.

    REJECT TRIBALISM, CORRUPTION AND OPPRESSION.

    VOTE FOR CHANGE IN AUGUST.

  2. Sunday Chanda is a leader worth talking about,he confronts issues with integrity and not by selfish motives like some members of Parliament. He voted for bill 7 because of the positive things that will benefit not only the people of kachibiya but Zambia as a whole. I personally condemn those members of Parliament who voted against bill 7 because they are hopeless.

  3. Ba Sunday Chanda you had the courage to do the right thing, voting for Bill 7 and time will vindictate you.

You don’t need PF or UPND to retain your parliamentary seat. Your works in Kanchibiya constituency speak for you. You have nothing to fear. The people of Kanchibiya are with you. Those who are harassing you will be put to shame come August 2026. Except they are incapable of shame.

  4. Sunday, for you to be MP for Kanchibiya, which party sponsored and ensured that you take the seat, today that party asked you to support them and you betrayed them, if betraying your own party is the only way government can bring development to Kanchibiya, is that government genuine, if it can only bring development by you turning against your party. Are you comfortable working with a party that will only bring development to the Zambians by you turning against your own party. Look in the mirror and say l shall continue going against my party in order to convince government to bring development to the people of Zambia. Conversely ask yourself if that party in opposition was going to accept its own MP’s to reject party instructions, what happened to those MP’s who went against that parties instructions on bill 10 when they were in opposition. Chiwamila galu kuluma mbuzi not mbuzi kuluma galu. Question you conscious and their conscious. Did you hear the sermon in Choma on how he dribbled your party, if you were leader of your party and gave direct instructions which were then rejected by your MP, would you have accepted that scenario?????, answer these questions with honesty
