I WANT TO BE PART OF A POLITICAL PARTY, NOT FORM ONE – SANGWA
By Elfi Mwale Shampande
Constitutional lawyer John Sangwa has clarified that his political ambition is to join an existing political party rather than form his own.
Appearing on Emmanuel Mwamba Verified via Facebook on Friday, Mr. Sangwa said he is open to working within an alliance that seeks genuine solutions for the country, stressing that he does not want to “tell people more lies” but to contribute toward meaningful change.
He emphasized that he has never declared interest in the presidency but is willing to serve in any capacity that contributes to national renewal.
Mr. Sangwa explained that his remarks come after months of reflection, following persistent calls from Zambians at home and abroad urging him to consider elective office.
He added that he has presented his “10-point questions” to the public as a mirror of what is broken in the country, encouraging citizens to join hands in charting a path toward renewal.
The constitutional lawyer further accused law enforcement agencies, the Judiciary, and the National Assembly of being weak institutions that function as extensions of the Executive.

This man wants to stand as independent? How then do we understand his political philosophy his ideals and values? Sangwa wants to believe his public persona will sell him and; the be all and end all that will define him?
The gull of a man…and the arrogance of it all.
HaaMulenga,
Anyone should be free to stand for president, not just your tribesman Hakainde. Let the voters decide who should lead them. We are tired of tribalism, selective justice, corruption and failure. This high cost of living is too much, and the load shedding has destroyed many small businesses. We need someone that can address these problems facing us right now. We have tried with Hakainde, and he has made each of the problems I have mentioned a lot worse. Never again shall we experiment based on fake promises from a conman.
I am studying a few individuals that can possibly take over next year. But I will not endorse anyone yet lest the freemason arrests them. He knows my predictions always come to pass.
VOTE FOR CHANGE IN 2026.
One can not have a rational discussion with a twit like you, as you are incapable of holding a thought.
Read the empty rethoric you write everyday. Just vain slogans that you pick from propergandist and want pass off as your own. How then can one want to debate or even have a viable discussion with you?
Your notion of what a freemason is misconceived and you want to stand here and lecture who?
You can not read. Therefore how do you even learn or engage. If you can not learn what is the point of engaing you.
So please take your mental illness somewhere where someone might find it useful.
Your down fall
Sangwa is a useless big mouth. He has no vision of where our country should going and doesn’t even know what to do.
That’s why he does not even want to lead. He only knows criticising but doesn’t want to be criticised himself.
Elective public office goes with money because logistics requires spending and that’s reality. But Sangwa doesn’t even have the money to form a party or to spend on elections.
So who is going to sponsor him for elections. Everyone puts their money where their mouth is and he knows that.
There’s no time for experiments, this chap cannot be our president and doesn’t even have it takes to be President. Running a country is different from preaching law and requires more which Sangwa doesn’t have.
If you want to be part of an existing political party, then your chances of success dwindle to almost zero. That political party or organisation will have its own agenda and as an outsider, your influence won’t be much.
There goes a seriously confused constitutional lawyer ! He should just admit that he doesn’t have resources nor capacity to to form a political party. He’s just good at talking and yapping like Fred Mmembe. Hunting for mistakes is easy just like a football spectator can shout at players but drag him in the pitch he gets completely lost. So that is my brother John Sangwa. If he’s serious of what he’s saying let him apply to any party and contest as Ward councilor – a busy grassroot portfolio.
With the coming of so may political parties, the direction to join an existing party is the best. I strongly suggest that you choose to work with SP, it is the only stable opposition currently but accept to take a position other than presidency
John Sangwa believes that politics is as simple as clients seeking legal services. Observing from a distance is not the same as being directly involved. The politics of opportunists are not welcome; individuals should not aspire to the presidency on a party ticket if they have contributed nothing.
To clarify, creating a manifesto and establishing goals and promises is not a bad thing. Implementing the priorities and promises made is not an overnight task; it requires time. This is precisely what the UPND government, led by President Hakainde Hichilema, is accomplishing. They are systematically addressing all the priorities and promises made, and they have already achieved significant progress. Only those blinded by hatred, envy, hypocrisy, and jealousy fail to recognize this. Honestly, what can John Sangwa offer? Throughout his extensive career as a lawyer, has he provided free services to represent the underprivileged? Instead, he associates with the elite. What community initiatives or projects has he launched to assist the vulnerable population in Zambia? Empty rhetoric without actionable results is simply meaningless.
