I WILL RESIGN, NO SORRY, I WILL NOT RESIGN OVER AMBULANCES – PHIRI
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Nicholas Phiri has backpedaled his earlier pledge to resign over failure to deliver 156 ambulances.
Earlier today, Phiri said he would not resign following the failure to have 156 Constituency Development Fund-CDF funded ambulances delivered in the country by 31st May 2025.
Addressing the media in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Phiri said unforeseen logistical challenges had hindered the delivery of the remaining ambulances being procured through Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency-ZAMMSA.
He cited his responsibility to ensure the ambulances were purchased at the right price and meet the required quality standards as the reason for not resigning, adding that resigning would not expedite the delivery of the ambulances.
He disclosed that all the 156 ambulances have already been procured and secured, with 47 of them currently in in the custody of government.

Then watch what you say in public. You called on your own pressure from the public. Give another deadline and meet it.
PS PHIRI is one of the hard working PSs.
Bamwankole will still be there to find room to find relevance but walaaaa
Hard working or not , people should honour their words.
He is very lucky he has a useless incompetent boss that tolerates failure. Can you imagine KK, Levy or even Sata tolerating such nonsense? Those where the days when we had proper leaders, not incompetent liars only interested in themselves.
Reject tribalism, corruption and oppression.
God bless Captain Ibrahim Traore.
VOTE FOR CHANGE IN 2026.
The arrogance of the PS echos the attitude that people are complaining about. A clear lack of accountability. Who are you kidding when you said what you said. This the same attitude that is explified in the civil service. Not serious about delivering to Zambians and the reason HH is being insulted.
Bwana HH fire this clown. Who does he think he addressing? Its being silly making pronouncements that you can not tell us you wont resign. If this is the attitude then these are clowns who exist to gloat about their status and are basic chair warmers. What Zambians dont need. People who want to act like they are indispensible. Fire him and put a performer. Enough stories. You spoke of deliverables…how with such clowns?
I would be shocked if anyone took him seriously. Zambians are like that. Some have offered body parts to be cut off only to rescind their decision after the fact. Take a Zambian’s word up at your own peril. Just liars and blame-shifters. I suspect some timid subordinates will be jettisoned under the fast moving bus…
This guy needs to be fired. Why keep changing goal posts. It seems he is in cahoots with the supplier hence always protecting the supplier.
