Fast-rising Nigerian X influencer and chef Esther Meinzide, popularly known as Big Esther, has reportedly d+ed alongside her sister in a fatal road accident in Ogun State.
The crash occurred on the Ijebu-Ode-Ore Expressway around the Bethel area on Monday, October 6, with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirming that nine people d+ed in the incident.
According to the FRSC, the crash involved a commercial Toyota Hiace bus and a Sino truck. The victims comprised three males and six females, while preliminary findings identified speed violation as the probable cause. The FRSC also said the road was wet due to rainfall at the time of the crash.
Esther, who used the X handle @BigEsther30, was reportedly travelling towards Delta State with her younger sister when the bus was involved in the crash. Her death was confirmed by friends and tributes have since flooded social media.
Reports also said Esther had shared footage from her journey shortly before the accident, showing her inside the bus.
Adding to the grief, an earlier post attributed to Esther about the type of d+ath she feared most has resurfaced online following the tragedy. However, the post and its timing could not be independently verified from authoritative sources reviewed for this report.
