Iran Deploys New Air Defense System Used to Down U.S. MQ-1 Drone
Iran has deployed its new Bavar-373 II air defense system along strategic coastal areas and around the Strait of Hormuz, strengthening its air defense network amid escalating tensions with the United States.
The system was reportedly used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to detect and engage a U.S. MQ-1 reconnaissance drone over the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian forces claimed the drone was successfully shot down after being tracked by the newly deployed air defense network.
