Iran MP criticizes foreign minister over meeting with US representative
An Iranian lawmaker on Wednesday criticized Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi over a meeting with US representatives, questioning what authorization allowed the talks to take place.
“On the basis of which authorization and policy did the foreign minister meet the representative of the aggressor enemy?” Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, wrote on X.
Rezaei said Iran’s conditions had already been conveyed to the United States and described any meeting held under the pretext of discussing those conditions as illegal.
“Nothing comes from such an illegal meeting except a sign of weakness,” he said.
