GAME OVER: Jesse Watters tells Fox viewers it’s not a red wave, and says he doesn’t think they’re going to get their $5,000 checks

Election Night is barely underway, and Fox News is already giving up on Trump’s biggest promise.

On Fox News Tuesday night, host Jesse Watters told viewers it’s not a red wave. Then he added that he doesn’t think they’re going to get their $5,000 checks.

That’s one of Fox’s own primetime hosts, on air, telling the audience the money isn’t coming.

Here’s what he was talking about. At the Republican midterm convention in Dallas on Sept. 9, Trump promised every American adult $5,000 if Republicans kept control of Congress. He said it would be called the Trump Dividend. According to the Associated Press, the plan would cost more than $1 trillion and would need congressional approval.

Trump kept pushing it. At a rally in Kentucky, he told the crowd the check was a sure thing, and that people say he might not do it, but he always does it. He also asked voters to pretend he was on the ballot.

But the promise never took off. The Week reported earlier that Trump’s previous check promises, including $5,000 from DOGE savings and $2,000 tariff rebates, never came. A poll cited by Axios found that 61 percent of likely voters doubted he would follow through, and AP found Republican candidates weren’t even running ads about it.

Now the checks are officially in trouble, and the person saying so is on Fox News.

The message was sold as a reason to vote Republican. On Election Night, a Fox host just told America to stop waiting.- Really American
