John P. Sangwa SC and Ms. Dolika Banda Unite Under the Movement for National Renewal (MNR) to Champion a People-Driven Zambia
We, **John P. Sangwa SC and Ms. Dolika Banda**, are honoured to announce a new chapter in our shared commitment to building a better Zambia, a Zambia where citizens are not bystanders, but active participants in shaping the future of our nation.
After a period of deep reflection, consultation, and dialogue, we have resolved to work together under the **Movement for National Renewal (“MNR”)**: a people centred movement dedicated to restoring integrity, accountability, and purpose to Zambian public life. This partnership is founded on a shared conviction that Zambia’s future must be reclaimed by its citizens, not as spectators but as active architects of a just, prosperous, and united Republic.
We are united by a profound conviction that Zambia’s renewal must begin with her citizens. We recognise that true transformation will not emerge from our already tired institutions alone, but also from an awakened and empowered citizenry taking responsibility for the nation’s political direction, economic progress, social welfare, and human development. It is time for every Zambian to reclaim both voice and agency in shaping the country’s destiny.
Our collaboration is therefore, not driven by personal ambition or political convenience, but by purpose, principle, and the urgent call for national transformation. Together, we are building a movement anchored in integrity, guided by competence, and sustained by our collective patriotism. We seek to restore honour in leadership, foster inclusive economic opportunity, and build a just and equitable society for all.
Such a renewal demands more than just participation; it calls for a higher standard of national dialogue and leadership, one defined not by credentials or privilege, but by moral courage, sincerity of intention and a selfless devotion to the Republic.
Through the MNR we call upon like-minded Zambians from all walks of life, provinces, and communities, to join us in this national cause for renewal. Our immediate goal is to mobilise **one million supporters by 31 December 2025**, united by conscience, conviction, and a desire to rebuild Zambia on a foundation of truth, transparency, accountability, through the power of the voter’s card.
We firmly believe that when citizens unite around a common purpose, no obstacle is insurmountable. In the coming days, we will host a **joint public engagement** to share more details about this partnership, outline our strategic objectives, roadmap and engage directly with citizens and stakeholders. This will not be a monologue, but a dialogue with the people.
By all intents and purposes, this is more than an alliance; it is **a national awakening**, a solemn call to renewal. It is a summons to every Zambian who believes that our country can rise again: stronger, fairer, recognisable, and united in purpose. The hour for doubt has passed; the moment for courage is upon us.
Together, in faith and determination, we can, and we will build the Zambia we all deserve.
For God, for Country, for the People.

Unlikely that this Duo will connect with the common people in our shanty townships, rural areas, markets, the hungry Hustlers, Kaponyas on our streets between now and 12 August 2026. These are the massive Voters. Theirs is only entertaining us and spinning unrealistic economic and legal Jargons on Social Media and Radio.up to 2026. Zambians, by nature, are conservative Voters.
This is very good news. This formula could certainly work. In 2021, we were promised the Dubai formula. In 2026, we will give them the Malawi formula.
To all citizens, let us consider Sangwa as a vehicle to alternative politics, a citizen driven governance. There are no LGBT backers, and every citizen is a stakeholder. I urge everyone to consider this novel model of politics which bypasses tribe. Let us show the established mode of politics the Red card. Never again shall Zambians entertain conmen and tribalists.
VOTE FOR CHANGE IN 2026.
Ba Indigo, get to know Mr. Sangwa and Ms. Banda first. Dig out more about their personal lives, their life philosophy, their beliefs. Then make a proper judgement before hailing them as the solution to the challenges you think our country faces.
Don’t be too quick to conclude, otherwise one year down the road, you will be disappointed and again start looking for your Mr. Perfect to rescue Zambia.
Iam sticking with HH because I realistically assessed his abilities and still maintain he is way ahead of the pack, especiallly that he has been tested and found to be competent, at least by my reckoning.
This alliance has already failed. HH is a documented man of the people. You demonise HH, you immediately lose touch with the people.
Opposition should focus on delivering solutions, not making the removal of an individual an agenda.

The John Sangwa – Dolika Banda Ticket is a credible Ticket which offers a formidable front against Mr Hakainde Hichilema and his UPND.
As they say, A day is a very long time in Politics. Mr Hakainde Hichilema and his UPND thought 2026 was all wrapped up.
The people are looking for an alternative to Mr Hakainde Hichilema ‘s Vengeful Rule, the Daily Imprisoning of Opponents, divisive Politics, Bad Governance, disrespect for Constitutionalism, Institutions of governance and the Rule of Law.

Yes, as per the wish of them, they are probably the best
best for them because they are from the north and the east, the so
called correct region to govern Zambia. Same agenda, goal is to remove HH, to

John Sangwa is a Zambian citizen who traces his ancestry to North-Western province but he was not born and raised there. That’s enough.

This is desperation at best without shame especially for Dolika Banda!! Whatever she touches turns into dust. She started with wanting to lead PF but miserably failed; Went to UKA where she was rejected; Then tried an unknown party to replace Andy Banda and she failed again; Now has settled for Vice Presidency with John Sangwa an alliance that has no political party and they are both bound to fail. How can they register a genuine party to stand in within 9 months left?
We don’t want drama and jokers – we had enough under PF! Please tell these chancers to remove their political filthy dirty bodies and try heir lucky elsewhere. Imagine John Sangwa thinks gullible Zambians will fund his political dreams of becoming a president! Let him try in Zaire.
The problem Sangwa is going to face is, citizen participation and integrity are not really absent under UPND and HH. He is calling for things that this govt is already championing, e.g rule of law policy, is one way of calling for integrity. Wide voter registration is one way of ensuring citizen participation, same as creating job and business opportunities. So Sangwa is just using different words for the same thing. I don’t know why he can’t see obvious things that are already there but begins to call them absent. That is dangerous. Once pipo realize you are bringing nothing new, you lose it
Chilyata, please do not mistake me for Sangwa’s political supporter. I’m merely defending his right to do what he is doing. I know that he’s not what he seems to most Zambians. It would be a big step backwards to vote him as President of Zambia.
That is fine and I understand. Sangwa is just a chancer trying his luck for this important position. We all know that Sangwa has no principles and changes when it benefits him personally.
Before 2021, Sangwa campaigned strongly against Edgar Lungu’s thirds term. However, in 2024, the same Sangwa U-turned and defended Lungu’s entitlement to a third term! He is a man without a face and shame. He wanted money from Lungu and that was enough for him to change his principles. That is not someone who can lead our country at the highest level.
Not exactly. He’s a practising lawyer and all lawyers have a professional duty to accept judgements of a court of law , at least in public, although privately they may think that the judgment is defective and stupid. That’s the position Sangwa is in.
The presidency of HH has inspired a lot to run for Statehouse . All the first timers are staking their chances, congratulations to HH. 2026 is for HH, and 2031 will be very interesting
