JUDICIARY CLOSES COURT PREMISES OVER SECURITY CONCERNS
The Judiciary has directed all members of staff not to report for work today following the closure of court premises over unspecified security concerns.
According to a memorandum dated August 24, 2026, issued by Chief Administrator Nalishibo Imataa, the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure while authorities work to contain the situation.
The memo, addressed to all members of staff, states that workers have been advised not to report for duty until further guidance is issued.
It further indicates that staff will be informed when it is considered safe for normal operations to resume.
The notice was copied to senior judicial officials, including the Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice, President and Deputy President of the Constitutional Court, and the President and Deputy President of the Court of Appeal, among others.
The Judiciary has not provided details on the nature of the security situation that prompted the closure.

In 2015 or 2016 ECL dribbled UPND by stopping concourt from finalizing UPND election petition because they sensed danger ahead now the pattern seem to have changed. They allege HH has dribbled them by closing the courts ! ECL blamed the calendar ! Mundubule is under pressure to unreasonably petition: Wasting time and money.
In fact HH is a BLESSED GUY..PF thought they were clever. BUT HH has used the same formula for good.
Even in life FAILURE BECOMES A BLESSING IN THE long run.

Under PF, it was even worse, PF cadres were allowed to camp in the High Court grounds, making camp fires for two days or so. And when they were satisfied that the 14 day period was over, they all left and the Courts remained closed. UPND went there with their Lawyers, there was no one to hear them. So what are they complaining about now, let them sleep on the bed they prepared. And for any government, alertness and security precautions are normal, the same PF was doing the same. They did continuous surveillance on HH thinking that he could have fire arms in his home but there was nothing. But they were still not satisfied and in their net move, a band of Security officers drove to Shibuyunji at his wife’s home alleging that he had buried the fire arms there. So there is nothing new here, what UPND is doing is simply alertness and vigilance giving no compromise to the security of the country. In every election, we have winners and losers, winners can now go ahead and form government while the losers also can think of something else to do, there is life outside politics. Let’s put the interests of the country above our own interests, otherwise we shall not allow few frustrated and selfish losers to destabilize our country. This is the only country ourselves and our children have, we have no where to run to. Therefore we to guard the peace we have jealously. God bless Zambia, One Zambia, One Nation.
It seems like we have not moved an inch. Denying Mr. Mundubile the chance to petition is WRONG, just as it was wrong for the PF government to sabotage the hearing of HH’s petition in 2016.
God hates injustice.
Ultimately, the Constitutional Court judges who facilitated the 2016 injustice paid the price. They were disgraced and dismissed from the judiciary.
The deliberate action to frustrate Mr. Mundubile’s petition is an injustice and cannot be excused under the guise of security. It simply renders credence.to Mr. Mundubile’s claims of foul play, irrespective of whether he had a genuine case or not. The legal option should have been allowed to run its full course.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Perpetrators of injustice cannot escape God’s wrath.
