KABWE UPND CELEBRATES INDUSTRIAL REVIVAL, LEADERS EXPRESS GRATITUDE

The people of Kabwe have every reason to smile as the town edges closer to regaining its industrial glory. Acting UPND Kabwe District Chairman, Garry Domingo, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the UPND government under the leadership of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema for championing economic revival in the district.
In a message shared from the Chairman’s Desk, Mr. Domingo highlighted the recent visit by the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, to Zambia–China Mulungushi Textiles. The company is preparing to resume operations, marking a pivotal moment in Kabwe’s industrial resurgence. “This milestone signals the government’s determination to restore Kabwe’s industrial heritage and drive inclusive economic growth,” he said.
Kabwe Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Christozer Phiri, welcomed the development, emphasizing that the reopening of Mulungushi Textiles will play a vital role in creating employment opportunities and boosting the local economy. Mr. Domingo also acknowledged the support and guidance of the Provincial Minister, Hon. Mwabashike Nkulukusa, Permanent Secretary Dr. Milner Mwanakampwe, and District Commissioner Mr. Lennox Shimwambwa in ensuring that the benefits of industrial revival reach the people of Kabwe.
The Chairman further applauded the resilience and patience of Kabwe residents, whose unwavering hope for the return of industry has been crucial in achieving this milestone. “Your belief in progress has been instrumental in reaching this moment,” he remarked.
Concluding his message, Garry Domingo reaffirmed the Kabwe District UPND’s commitment to supporting the government’s industrialisation agenda, urging the community to remain united in protecting these gains, supporting ongoing development, and building a prosperous future for Kabwe and Zambia.
