Key Iran Highway Bridge Hit Twice in Airstrikes, Tehran Warns of Immediate Retaliation

Iranian state media report that a major highway bridge linking Tehran to Karaj has been partially destroyed following two consecutive airstrikes in the same day, raising fears of a broader escalation.

According to Fars News Agency, the strikes targeted the strategically significant “B1 Bridge,” a critical chokepoint near the capital. The first attack occurred in the morning, leaving at least two people dead. A second strike reportedly followed in the afternoon while emergency teams were conducting rescue operations at the site.

Iran has accused the United States of carrying out the attack, while Israel has denied any involvement. Images circulating on social media appear to show flames and thick black smoke rising from the structure, along with visible structural damage to the bridge deck.

In response, Iranian officials have warned of imminent retaliation, reportedly identifying key infrastructure targets across the region, including major bridges in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and Jordan.

Additional claims from Tehran state that drone strikes were launched against U.S. military aircraft at Azraq Air Base, a key operational hub in eastern Jordan. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also claimed attacks on a U.S. military installation near Manama, Bahrain home to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet using missiles and drones.

Furthermore, the IRGC alleged it targeted and destroyed an Amazon cloud data facility in Bahrain, framing the strike as part of a broader campaign against what it described as technology entities linked to intelligence and hostile operations.

The U.S. Department of Defense has not issued any official confirmation regarding these incidents or potential casualties. Many of the claims remain unverified, and the situation continues to develop rapidly.
